Attack on Rafizi's Son: What We Know so Far
Two men on a motorcycle followed Rafizi Ramli's wife before attacking his 12-year-old son with a syringe in a planned incident, police said investigations are ongoing.
- In Putrajaya, Rafizi’s 12-year-old son was jabbed with a syringe on August 13 at about 1.45 PM by an assailant in a shopping centre carpark.
- Rafizi alleged the assailants had followed his wife’s car beforehand, suggesting premeditation and a possible motive related to last week’s whistleblower claims.
- Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the carpark and have recorded six witness statements, including those of Rafizi and his wife.
- In response, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department has been assigned to assist the investigation, following Abdul Karim's call for a thorough probe.
- Abdul Karim warned that prior threats may have foreshadowed the attack and cautioned the incident could instil public fear if unresolved.
