Former Nebraska Wrestler AJ Ferrari Arrested in Douglas County on Warrant Out of Lancaster County
Investigators tracked Ferrari by surveillance before deputies made a felony traffic stop and booked him into jail, officials said.
On Tuesday, Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested former Nebraska wrestler Albert "A.J." Ferrari near Bennington during a traffic stop near 204th Street and Grand Avenue following surveillance by the Special Operations Group.
The arrest stemmed from an outstanding Lancaster County warrant charging Ferrari with assault by strangulation or suffocation of a pregnant woman, domestic violence assault, and false imprisonment.
According to police reports, the woman alleged that Ferrari dragged her off the bed by her feet and strangled her, stating she attempted to kick him because she was pregnant.
This arrest follows a separate incident on June 26, when Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested Ferrari near North Platte on charges including flight to avoid arrest and willful reckless driving.
Previously, Lancaster County authorities dismissed a warrant against Ferrari in January of this year, and Ferrari parted ways with the Huskers in April after spending the 2025-2026 season with the team.
