Former Black Midi member Cameron Picton launches new band My New Band Believe with thrilling single ‘Numerology’

My New Band Believe's debut album, inspired by Cameron Picton’s fever-dream illness, drops April 10 with UK and North American tours announced by Rough Trade Records.

  • On April 10, Cameron Picton announced My New Band Believe's self-titled debut album will be released via Rough Trade Records, with a UK tour starting April 28 in Glasgow.
  • After Black Midi confirmed an 'indefinite' end last summer, the band, formed in 2017, earned acclaim with their 2019 debut 'Schlagenheim' and released three studio albums.
  • Drawing on 'weird imagery' Picton experienced while ill, the album is almost entirely acoustic with minimal reverb, a full string section, and performances by Kiran Leonard, Caius Williams, Steve Noble, and Andrew Cheetham.
  • Ahead of the album's release, 'Numerology' will appear as a bonus 10" and on a bonus 103 version and Deluxe CD, Picton says.
  • A North American tour will follow the album, with dates in late May and early June in Philadelphia, New York, Kingston, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit and Chicago, including venues like PhilaMOCA and Mercury Lounge.
