BATAVIA — A man charged in connection with the fire death of a 10-year-old boy may not face prison time after he accepted a plea deal in Genesee County Court Wednesday.

A man who wasn't home on a cold February night when a fire broke out in his family's apartment that took the life of a 10-year-old boy was admitted in County Court on Wednesday morning to criminally negligent homicide. Henry Banks, 56, also entered a guilty plea to one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
