Amorim Evokes Spirit of Baresi as He Bids Revive AC Milan Fortunes

On Wednesday, AC Milan coach Ruben Amorim faces bitter rivals Inter Milan in Perth, Western Australia, marking his first competitive match since departing Manchester United in January.
Amorim vowed on Tuesday to honor the legacy of club legend Franco Baresi, who died last week, pledging to "continue the legacy of Franco" as he revives the ailing Italian giants.
Veteran midfielder Luka Modric, 41, will play against Inter after signing a one-year contract extension; Amorim said, "We did a lot to get him back at least for one more year."
The derby is part of the week-long "Calcio Italiano" festival in Perth, where Inter plays Juventus on Saturday while AC Milan travels to Jakarta for Chelsea; Juventus faces Palermo on August 11.
