Foreign-Born People Are More Active but Have Higher Unemployment in the Basque Country

People born abroad have higher activity rates in the Basque Country, but higher unemployment, according to an analysis by Eustat using data from January 2025. The highest activity rates (the proportion of working-age people who are employed or seeking employment) are recorded among people born in Europe (66.1%), Africa (64.6%) and America (63.2%), while the rate for all residents in the Basque Country is 57%.
