Ford to Invest $1 Billion in New Kentucky Truck Plant

- Ford has operated in Kentucky since 1913, when the first Model T rolled off an assembly line in Louisville, establishing a century-long manufacturing presence that now supports nearly 120,000 workers statewide.
- As Ford's highest-revenue facility, the plant produces F-Series Super Duty, Ford Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator SUVs, with a vehicle rolling off the assembly line every 45 seconds to generate $25 million in annual revenue.
- The announcement follows accusations from the Trump administration regarding Ford's reliance on Chinese battery technology; Ford CEO Jim Farley stated the investment demonstrates "our commitment to American manufacturing and our belief that the future of mobility and energy will be right here in the United States."
- Construction is slated to begin later this year, with the facility supporting production of the Ford Fathom, a midsize electric pickup truck scheduled to launch in 2027 built on the Universal Electric Vehicle Platform.
