A month after its classification as a protected species, a decree published Tuesday, October 6, 2026 prohibits hunting of the great tetras, which was still possible in the Pyrenees.
The large tetras were added in early September to the list of protected birds, along with the snow partridge.
"The decree updates the list of species subject to adaptive management", says the text published in the Official Gazette.
