For the sixth time, the judge declared the proceedings failed in the COVID-19 test case, which holds former President Abdalá Bucaram Ortiz, his son Jacobo Bucaram Pulley, Israeli citizen Sheinman Oren and former agent of the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) Leandro Berrones.
Quito, Sep 3 (Prensa Latina) A court in Ecuador today ordered the arrest of former president Abdalá Bucaram when he received the discharge doctor, after his sixth absence from the hearing in which he was to hear a sentence against him. The court ordered police surveillance at the clinic where the ex-mandator would be hospitalized and ordered his arrest when he was discharged from hospital.
Court orders that Abdalá Bucaram be apprehended upon discharge, following a further failed hearing in the Evidence Covid-19 AMT Agents case.
The former President of the Republic, prosecuted for alleged organized crime, did not attend the proceedings on Thursday, 3 September.
