At sunset tonight, Ramadan begins, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar - the month of fasting and spiritual dedication of Muslims.
More than a billion Muslims around the world will begin the fasting month of Ramadan at sunset. The first day of fasting will be on Thursday, and it will last 29 days, until sunset on March 19. Joint evening prayers will also be held in 18 locations in Slovenia this year.
It is intended for fasting, gathering of believers, communal meals and prayers. Evening prayers will also be held this year in 18 local committees of the Islamic Community in Slovenia.
