Fontaines D.C. Announce New Album Dopamine Chamber, Unveil "Marianne"
The lead single “Marianne” debuted live in Spain, and the band said the album moves toward darker, electronic-infused sounds.
- Dublin-Formed band Fontaines announced their fifth studio album Dopamine Chamber, arriving Oct. 16 via Recordings. Recorded across London, the English countryside, and Palermo, the project embraces a darker, electronic-infused sound.
- Produced by James Ford, the record follows previous releases Skinty Fia and Romance . The five-piece has earned significant acclaim since meeting at music college, now headlining arena-sized shows.
- Lead single Marianne debuted live Aug. 8 at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cadiz, Spain. The band said the track was inspired by Netflix thriller series Ripley , starring Adam Scott.
- Multiple Grammy Award nominations highlight their career, including a best rock album nod for Hero's Death . The band will headline Reading and Leeds Festival on Aug. 30 alongside major acts.
- Guitarist Conor Curley described the sonic shift as finding sounds pointing toward the future. This evolution follows their first Billboard 200 entry and a BRIT award for international group.
