Jackson Blake scored twice, and Carolina outshot Philadelphia 36-15 to complete the sweep and reach the Eastern Conference finals.
Jackson Blake scored 5:28 into overtime for his second goal Saturday, lifting the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-2 victory and completing a four-game sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers. Carolina advanced to the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight season.
Logan Stankoven scored his seventh playoff goal 4:13 into the third period to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead. Stankoven finished a cross-ice pass from Taylor Hall with a one-timer from just outside the crease.
Frederik Andersen made 15 saves for Carolina, which dominated the shot count with a 36-15 advantage. Philadelphia goaltender Dan Vladar stopped 37 shots despite the loss.
The Hurricanes will face the winner of the Buffalo and Montreal series in the Eastern Conference finals. Carolina remains undefeated at 8-0 in the playoffs, the NHL's first such start since 1985.
Carolina is the 24th team in league history to win eight or more consecutive playoff games. The franchise seeks its first Stanley Cup championship since 2006.
