FlyDubai suspends service to Israel after pilot stabbed, decision pending investigation; pilot receives praise for fending off attack
Flydubai refused to disclose the citizenship of the two pilots of the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight, which landed in Saudi Arabia on the morning of 30 September in an emergency. According to The National, the airline stated that the full picture of the incident would not be clear until after an examination of the data of the on-board recorders.
The Russian and Ukrainian, who were first referred to by the Israeli 12th Canal as the parties to the conflict, were indeed on board, claims the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, which reports that both pilots flying in the cab took control of the aircraft in Saudi Arabia after an incident, and landed a plane in Saudi Arabia.
