Killybegs Mariners report from their recent league outing at Mullaghmore… It turned out to be a beautiful night under the full moon and the stars for the fourteen anglers that tramped across the far side of Mullaghmore Beach on high water to fish the going tide. First cast produced fish with a nice double for Jordan Frame with the biggest at 35cm. Soon it was clear there was a lot of good fish going with 12 of the 14 anglers having flounders over 30cm with Jordan having a 35cm, Paul Duddy 31cm, Chris Whyte getting a 36cm fish, Pat Cunningham with a 37cm, John Cunningham with a 35cm, Gavin Dorrian a few 31cm, Declan McGettigan 34cm, Shane Cunningham 36cm, Proinnsias Doherty 32cm, Brendan Green a 39cm, Sean Harte a 34cm, Stefan Martin a 30cm. There were five species caught on the night of flounder, turbot, trout, pouting and whiting. Longest flattie prize was won by Brendan Green with a big 39cm flounder. Second overall with 7 flounder, a turbot and whiting was Pat Cunningham and in 1st overall with 12 flounders to 36cm was Chris Whyte.
