Florida Woman Attacked 72-Year-Old over MAGA Hat: Police

Laura Garrett, 33, allegedly attacked 72-year-old Gary Gama at a park in Largo, Florida, on Tuesday around 5:30 pm involving a can and a MAGA hat.
The incident followed a verbal argument where Garrett confronted Gama about his support for President Donald Trump and his MAGA hat.
Garrett allegedly hit Gama on the back of his head and shoulder with a can, then emptied its contents over him before climbing over a fence and leaving the scene on foot.
Police arrested Garrett after she resisted officers by kicking, wrapping legs around one, and throwing herself to the ground, causing a cop to graze his knee before she was subdued and handcuffed.
Garrett was arrested on charges including assault against an individual aged 65 or older, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest without violence; she was released Wednesday evening, and the case has been sent to the State Attorney for prosecution.
