Teens Hailed as Heroes for Helping Man Having Heart Attack on Side of the Road

- The teens were heading to fish after visiting a McDonald's on South Flamingo Road when they noticed Fernandez-Delgado struggling to change a tire and experiencing chest pain.
- Without hesitation, the students contacted 911 and stayed by his side; Magrone recalled, "We saw him on the side of the road, and we were like, 'Let's go help him.'"
- Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel transported Fernandez-Delgado to Memorial Hospital West for treatment; he has since returned home and is recovering after undergoing several medical procedures.
- Cooper City Mayor James Curran praised the trio during the recognition ceremony, stating, "They demonstrated incredible maturity and awareness of their surroundings," as the group hopes their story encourages others to help.
