Ashton Daniels Powers Florida State Football Past Virginia, 38-7
Daniels accounted for 319 total yards and Florida State’s defense added 10 sacks in its first win over a Power Four team this season.
On Saturday, October 3, Florida State defeated Virginia 38-7 behind quarterback Ashton Daniels, who set a program record with five rushing touchdowns as the Seminoles improved to 3-2.
Virginia struck first with a touchdown, but the Seminoles scored 38 unanswered points after trailing 7-0 in the first quarter. The defensive unit sparked the rally, recording 10 sacks and holding the Cavaliers to 205 total yards.
Daniels accounted for 319 total yards, completing 12 of 19 passes for 183 yards while rushing 17 times for 136 yards. His five scores surpassed the previous program record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback.
This performance secured Florida State's first win over a Power Four team in 2026. Defensive end Rylan Kennedy and linebacker Chris Jones led the effort, which held Virginia to just 37 rushing yards.
The Seminoles travel to Louisville on Friday to continue conference play. Virginia hosts Syracuse on Saturday in their next matchup.
