Florida grandmother in ICU after grandson allegedly stabbed her 11 times on Mother's Day
Police say Keo Nottage stabbed his grandmother 11 times after a grocery run, and she remains in critical condition in the ICU.
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, 29-year-old Keo Nottage allegedly stabbed his 74-year-old grandmother, Mary Sigler, 11 times at their home in the 600 block of 52nd Street in West Palm Beach.
The violence began when Sigler and a relative returned from grocery shopping for Mother's Day dinner; when asked to help carry groceries, Nottage reportedly declared, "Someone is going to die today."
After the initial stabbing, Nottage pursued his 16-year-old cousin with a knife while shouting threats, forcing the witness to flee and call 911 for emergency assistance.
Authorities charged Nottage with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault; Sigler remains in critical condition at St. Mary's Hospital while he is held without bond in the Palm Beach County Jail.
During a Monday court appearance, deputies removed Nottage from the courtroom following several interruptions as he questioned his charges; investigators remain uncertain whether the victim will survive her injuries.
