Florence Pugh Cast in The Midnight Library Adaptation
Pugh will play Nora Seed and produce the fantasy drama, which has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, Studiocanal said.
Academy Award nominee Florence Pugh is set to star in and produce the fantasy drama 'The Midnight Library', directed by filmmaker Garth Davis, with Studiocanal and Blueprint Pictures launching sales at the 2026 Cannes market.
Based on Matt Haig's acclaimed 2020 novel, the story follows Nora Seed, a woman who discovers a mysterious library between life and death; the book has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.
Screenplay writers Laura Wade and Nick Payne are adapting the work, with the production team planning to enter pre-production this fall before filming commences at the start of 2027.
Studiocanal will release the film theatrically across the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia, and New Zealand, with CEO Anna Marsh stating, "We are thrilled to be working with such exceptional talent."
Director Davis praised the collaboration, expressing excitement to reunite with Pugh, while Haig noted Nora's story is in "great hands" for the big-screen reimagining.
