Jacob Misiorowski Fans 11 as Brewers Shut Out Yankees
Misiorowski threw 10 pitches at 103 mph or faster and struck out 11 as Milwaukee posted its first shutout of New York since 1992.
On Friday, Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski dominated the New York Yankees in a 6-0 shutout at American Family Field, throwing 10 pitches at least 103 mph and striking out 11 over six innings.
Misiorowski showed no effects from the hamstring cramp that forced him out of his previous start last week, logging the highest velocity by a starting pitcher since Statcast tracking began in 2008.
Milwaukee's offense secured four runs against Yankees left-hander Max Fried in the second inning, with Brandon Lockridge and Sal Frelick delivering run-scoring singles that built a cushion never threatened.
Outfielder Lockridge left the game in the fourth inning after running knee-first into the unpadded portion of the left-field wall while attempting a catch.
The series continues Saturday night with Milwaukee left-hander Kyle Harrison facing New York right-hander Cam Schlittler .
