‘Fixer Upper’s Chip Gaines Shares His Unfiltered Thoughts on Anti-Aging Culture
The 51-year-old Fixer Upper star said the fountain of youth is a scam and urged readers to value faith, love and community instead.
In the summer 2026 issue of Magnolia Journal, 51-year-old Fixer Upper star Chip penned a candid essay criticizing modern anti-aging culture and its relentless marketing tactics.
Chip challenged the 'fountain of youth' idea, which he noted has persisted since Alex the Great, and criticized the term 'golden years,' telling readers 'Whoever came up with it must' have been in advertising.
Describing culture's answer to 'staying young' as 'just one big marketing stunt,' The Magnolia Network star noted it sells products and regimens instead of encouraging genuine living.
Acknowledging his own curiosity about keeping youth, Chip warned that 'There's no changing the fact that we' are all getting older, cautioning against the temptation to wait life out.
Concluding his essay, Chip stated 'The fountain of youth is a scam, so don,' emphasizing that a life lived well matters far more than chasing youth.
