Five companies that produce baby milk powder are under criminal investigation in France, amid the expanding crisis generated by successive recalls of possibly contaminated products.
The prosecutors in Paris opened a criminal investigation aimed at five producers of formulae milk for sugar, following subsequent withdrawals of suspected cereulid contamination products, a dangerous toxin for baby health, which may cause pregnancy, vomiting and diarrhoea.
