- On Wednesday, Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna said an attack at the National Forest Rangers' Office at Oloka Village via Ikoyi-Ile at about 2330 hours killed five forest rangers.
- Preliminary reports say about twelve attackers emerged from adjoining bushes, opened sporadic gunfire on the Rangers' Office, targeting forest rangers before fleeing.
- The Oyo State Police Command mobilised additional personnel, and the Area Commander, DPO Ikoyi Division, Tactical Teams and other operatives were tasked to secure the park and gather evidence.
- The deployment prevented further attack as the CP deployed all available operatives and operational assets, preventing further attack and averting a potential breakdown of law and order.
- Continued presence will secure and protect the area as police officers immediately mobilised saved the situation, with the Oyo State Police Command and Area Commander, DPO Ikoyi Division securing evidence.
