Papua New Guinea’s first-ever steel arch bridge is now taking shape along the northern coastal highway, marking a major engineering milestone under the Connect PNG Program. Secretary for Works Gibson Holemba said "The Hawaiin Bridge, located on the key highway linking Wewak to Aitape, Vanimo and the Indonesian border at Wutung, is the first bridge in the country to use steel arch bridge technology."
