Staff report The Chronicle-News On Thursday, Feb. 19 at around 10:40 a.m. several agencies responded to a brush fire near I25 by mile marker 61, northbound in Huerfano County that the Huerfano County Sheriff’s Office said was “growing rapidly” and “threatening to spread east onto the plains.” The HCSO stated, “A cigarette butt was found to be the cause of the fire.
