RBKC launches first purpose-built extra care housing scheme

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) has revealed plans for its first purpose-built extra care housing scheme as part of the Lots Road South development in Kensington and Chelsea.  The proposals include 274 new homes, with 65 extra care flats at social rent, 53 homes for social rent, and 156 for private sale.  A planning application has been submitted by Mount Anvil after four rounds of public consultation. RBKC partners with developer on largest extra-care scheme in borough

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has partnered with a developer to build 274 extra-care and private sale homes.

A development specifically catering for older people is to be built in Chelsea.

274 new homes are to be built in the Lots Road South development with 65 of them earmarked as “extra care housing.” These types of homes offer residents their own self-contained flat, a secure tenancy and support staff where needed. The programme will be the largest extra care development in Kensington and Chelsea to date.
