China Electric Vehicle Exports: Chinese EVs debut in Canada under new trade agreement
Chinese-made electric vehicles have entered the Canadian market. Data from Global Affairs Canada says May was the first month of EV imports from China. Earlier this year, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney signed an initiative with China, allowing it to export up to 49,000 Chinese EVs per year into Canada at a reduced tariff rate of 6.1%.
