Firefighters battled fierce flames that spread through debris and brush in Weston. Firefighters Stop Brush Fire in San Clemente

Firefighters stopped a half-acre vegetation fire that burned in a canyon near some San Clemente homes Friday. The Orange County Fire Authority reported at about 10:30 p.m. Friday that it had stopped forward progress of the fire in the 300 block of Avenida San Pablo.
