Some 1,300 firefighters remained mobilized on Sunday to avoid reactivations, as there were during the day, marked by heat temperatures. "To those who struggled tirelessly and remain mobilized, our gratitude. The State will be at the side of the victims," said Prime Minister François Bayrou.
The civil security record shows 16,000 hectares travelled, of which 13,000 were burned.
The prefecture always calls for maximum vigilance at the beginning of the week, due to heat temperatures in the Aude and a still very dry and warm wind.
