Fire crews rescue dog, contain blaze to Rockford home

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A family is without their home after a fire damages it Monday evening. Rockford fire officials were called to 1010 Ridge Avenue around 5:30pm for a single-family home with smoke coming out of the second floor. Authorities said a family dog was still inside at the time of arrival, but crews worked quickly to rescue the dog and contain the blaze within 15 minutes.
