A forest fire threatened a Roma family encampment in the parish of Cabanelas, Vila Verde, this Sunday afternoon. Everyone escaped unharmed thanks to the prompt intervention of the fire departments. The fire broke out in the middle of the afternoon on a plot of land above Rua de Vasco da Gama, behind the Cabanelas Parish Council, and was quickly extinguished by the Vila Verde Volunteer Fire Department and the Fão Volunteer Fire Department.
