Even though I am not a huge believer in all that stuff, I do throw spilled salt over my shoulder, don’t walk under ladders, no shoes on the bed.  I pick up pins and pennies, or any coin for that matter, on the ground, knock on wood and so on because I don’t want to take any chances.
