- Following viral weekend posts, Fine reposted activist Nerdeen Kiswani's screenshot and wrote `If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one`, sparking bipartisan backlash.
- Co-Sponsors include Reps. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, Chip Roy, R-Texas, Mary Miller, R-Ill. and Keith Self, R-Texas, and The Hill said at least four other Republicans are expected.
- In response, Hakeem Jeffries called Fine `an Islamophobic, disgusting bigot` and Gavin Newsom said Fine should resign from Congress.
- Fine previously introduced a No Sharia Act in September, and reporting says it is unclear whether any U.S. jurisdictions actually ban dog ownership.
