FINAL UPDATE: Hawaiian Electric ends Public Safety Power Shutoff watch No PSPS implemented HONOLULU, May 23, 2026 – With hazardous weather conditions easing, Hawaiian Electric has ended its Public Safety Power Shutoff watch.
Wind speeds and humidity levels are no longer in wildfire risk ranges across Hawaiian Electric’s service territories. Hawaiian Electric did not need to shut off power to customers under its PSPS program.
