Born to Haitian immigrants, Dort and Mathurin grew up just blocks apart in Montreal North, a tough borough with one of Canada’s largest Haitian communities.
As soon as we mention the presence of Luguentz Dort and Bennedict Mathurin, both from Montreal North, in the NBA final when we arrive at St. Lawrence Park, Rodrigue Cireus travels to us. The 13-year-old basketball player is one of those thousands of teenagers who dream, one day, of being in their shoes.
