The demanding rescue operation at Tulove grede lasted almost four hours, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) announced.
The rescue took almost four hours until the victim was handed over to the medical team. The Croatian Maritime Safety Service (HGSS) points out that the conditions allowed for an aerial rescue, but it currently does not have the operational capability to perform a winch rescue with the new helicopters.
After celebrating the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Velebit Mountaineering Company, eight of its members set off for the summit of Tulove grede on Velebit. One fell ill and was evacuated by land.

One of the mountaineers suddenly fell ill on inaccessible terrain with symptoms indicating serious heart problems.
