Lewis Hamilton was all smiles as the F1 paddock reconvened at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza on Thursday, with the Ferrari driver hoping that an engine update will boost his and the team’s Italian Grand Prix chances.
The home race in Monza traditionally has a particularly high priority for the Scuderia Ferrari. To make it enough for the so much hoped-for victory this weekend, the Reds have upgraded once again and equipped their engine with a second upgrade stage.
Lewis Hamilton expressed optimism about the power unit updates Ferrari will bring to Monza ahead of the 2026 Italian Grand Prix, saying, "I strongly believe we have what it takes to win." Last year was Hamilton's first year with Ferrari at Monza, but this year he feels the team's development strategy has become much clearer.
