FRANCE, AUG 2 – Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt leads by over two minutes after a solo attack on the penultimate mountainous stage, positioning her strongly to win the 2025 Women's Tour de France.
- On Saturday, Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt launched a solo attack on the final climb of the penultimate stage to win the eighth stage of the Tour de France Femmes and claim the yellow jersey.
- Against a demanding 112 km route from Chambéry to Saint-François-Longchamp, the stage featured a 13-km climb of Col de Plainpalais and an 18.6-km ascent to Col de Madeleine.
- Attacking about 9 kms from the summit, Ferrand-Prévôt made her move and soon caught Niamh Fisher-Black and Yara Kastelijn before riding unchallenged to win.
- Ferrand-Prévôt will take her commanding lead into Sunday's final stage, with Sarah Gigante 2 minutes 37 seconds adrift, aiming for first Frenchwoman victory.
