Feds offer $1M reward for Haitian gang leader Johnson ‘Izo’ Andre
The U.S. State Department offers a $1 million reward for information on Johnson Andre, accused of leading gang kidnappings and violent crimes in Haiti.
- On Wednesday, the U.S. State Department announced a $1,000,000 reward for information on Johnson `Izo` Andre's role in a U.S. citizen hostage-taking in Port-au-Prince.
- The suspect is identified as leader of the 5 Segond gang from Village de Dieu and was charged last year in D.C. for ordering the March 18, 2023 gunpoint kidnapping.
- A Justice Department spokesperson wrote that the U.S. citizen victim was held nine days in Village de Dieu, beaten and burned with hot plastic before the 5 Segond gang released them on March 27, 2023.
- FBI Miami special agents asked the public on Wednesday to submit tips about the $1,000,000 reward via a webpage for tips.
- According to the United Nations Security Council, Andre used maritime routes to support his gang's northern cells and the Canaan gang, conducting kidnappings in Delmas, Bon Repos and Lilavois while hijacking trucks and stealing goods.
