The New York Times called the Washington National Opera’s decision to move its performances out of the Kennedy Center “perhaps the largest artistic rebuke yet to President Trump’s campaign to remake the Kennedy Center in his image.” That is literally what Trump is up to. The Opéra justifies this decision with "deep changes" that have taken place "under the direction of its general manager Richard Grenell". It was hosted since 1971 by the cultural centre of Washington, the real institution of the American capital, recently renamed Trump-Kennedy Center.
Since Trump's takeover of the great cultural centre, concerned above all with profitability, spectators and patrons of the institution have become rare. And the honorable Washington National Opera announces his move.
