FCT Exco Approves Completion Of Utako General Hospital, Upgrade Of Health Facilities
The plan includes new equipment and theatre upgrades, and officials say work on the long-abandoned Utako General Hospital will also resume.
- On Tuesday, the 19th FCT Executive Council meeting, presided over by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Minister of State Mariya Mahmoud, approved 20 memoranda to bolster public service delivery.
- Mandate Secretary, Health Secretariat and Environmental Services, Dr Adedolapo Fasawe announced the immediate renovation of 14 general hospitals and the revival of the long-abandoned Utako General Hospital.
- Additional approvals include a N5.703 billion contract for power infrastructure in Bwari Area Council, alongside the Education Secretariat's plan to provide examination materials and upgrade public school facilities.
- Director of Land Administration Chijioke Nwankwoeze detailed upgrades to ICT systems and revenue receipts, while the FCT Water Board secured chlorine supplies and Director of FCTA Security Services Department Adamu Gwary authorized a new Wasa Divisional Police Station.
- Modernization efforts extend to the judiciary, as General Counsel Salman Dako confirmed the digitalization of about 67 FCT High Court courtrooms to replace manual filing systems.
