FBI Seeks Info on Three Iranian Intelligence Officers
IRAN, JUL 15 – The FBI named three senior Iranian intelligence officers in the 2007 abduction and probable death of Robert Levinson and offers a combined $25 million reward for information.
- On July 15, 2025, the FBI issued seeking information posters featuring three high-ranking Iranian intelligence officers suspected of involvement in the 2007 disappearance of former FBI special agent Robert A. Levinson on Kish Island.
- Levinson was taken captive on March 9, 2007, during an unauthorized operation, with substantial evidence pointing to senior officials within Iran’s intelligence apparatus as orchestrating and concealing the abduction.
- The three officials—Reza Amiri Moghadam, Taghi Daneshvar, and Gholamhossein Mohammadnia—are accused of facilitating Levinson’s kidnapping, detention, and Iran’s disinformation campaign blaming a terrorist group in Pakistan.
- The FBI and U.S. State Department offer a combined reward of up to $25 million for information leading to Levinson’s recovery, with Assistant Director Steven Jensen stating, "Justice for Bob Levinson is not negotiable."
- Levinson most likely died while detained, separated from his loved ones, and the FBI remains committed to thoroughly investigating his disappearance and bringing those accountable for his kidnapping and likely death to justice.
