FBI Kansas City: 19 arrested, 9 children found during World Cup anti-trafficking operation

More than 15 agencies joined 17 operations that led to 19 arrests and nine children found, the FBI said.

  • "I am proud of the work of all the partners involved to help us on this surge," said Chris Ormerod, FBI Kansas City Special Agent in Charge. KCPD Chief Stacey Graves added that the department is "thankful for operations like these where vulnerable victims are rescued."
  • Nationally, FBI World Cup-related operations from June 8 to July 19 yielded 80 arrests, with 33 children and 38 adult survivors rescued. Bay Area agencies separately reported 25 arrests and 53 survivors identified during 66 operations in Santa Clara.
