FBI Agents to Train with UFC Fighters at Quantico

The FBI partners with UFC fighters to provide innovative mixed martial arts training, enhancing defensive tactics for academy students and senior staff, the agency said.

  • A UFC press release said training at the FBI Special Agent Academy in Quantico on March 15 and 16 will host academy students and senior FBI staff worldwide in a historic UFC–FBI partnership.
  • After taking charge last year, Patel proposed the idea in a teleconference with the heads of the FBI's 55 field offices, aligning with the FBI initiative to revamp training.
  • Among the instructors, high-profile fighters include Justin Gaethje, Jorge Masvidal, Chris Weidman, Claudia Gadelha, Michael Chandler, Manel Kape and Renzo Gracie, with Dana White expressing respect for the FBI.
  • The FBI director praised Dana White and the UFC, saying the partnership helps the Bureau better defend the nation, and academy students and senior FBI staff from around the world will receive training.
  • Given White's political visibility, the White House event includes a UFC fight on President Trump’s birthday, and UFC CEO Dana White is a longtime supporter of President Trump.
