- Apologizing for the "tragic case," Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Robert France explained officers were deceived by the killer's lies but recognized Nowak's condition within three minutes and switched to life-saving aid.
- Mark, Henry Nowak's father, demanded a "full, fearless and transparent" investigation, stating "Our family should not have to fight for the truth" as the Independent Office for Police Conduct examines the incident.
