Fan favourite Tango drink set to return to UK shelves this month after 15 years
Tango is relaunching the cult soft drink with 2,000 cans, as 89% of Millennials and 73% of Gen Z Brits show nostalgia for retro drinks.
Tango is relaunching Turbo Tango, the world's first aerosol soft drink, this month through exclusive creator-led drops with only 2,000 cans available. The campaign targets nostalgic Millennials and introduces the 2011 cult classic to Gen Z.
Driven by persistent fan demand, the relaunch follows survey data showing 89 per cent of Millennials feel nostalgic for childhood food and drinks. Additionally, 73 per cent of Gen Z Brits have searched social media for retro snacks from the 2000s and 2010s.
The Turbo Tango Lab Party takes place tomorrow, September 9, from 4pm to 6.30pm at Gorilla in Manchester. A second creator-led drop hosted by JV and Biggs will follow the next week.
Carlsberg Britvic brand director Dave Laidler said the company revived the product after observing years of fan chatter and online petitions. "2011 called, and we answered," Laidler said, emphasizing excitement to introduce the classic to a new generation.
Beyond soft drinks, Tango's research reveals broader Gen Z preferences, with 46 per cent wanting phones with chargers and 40 per cent favoring the iPod's return. These findings demonstrate a wider cultural appetite for 2010s-era technology.
