New Falcons Coach Stefanski Adds Former Dolphins Assistant Aukerman as Special Teams Coordinator
Kevin Stefanski builds Falcons staff with hires from Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns, following an 8-9 season and leadership changes by owner Arthur Blank.
- On Monday, New Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski added Craig Aukerman as special teams coordinator in Flowery Branch, Ga., filling the final coordinator role for the 2026 season.
- After an 8-9 finish, Falcons owner Arthur Blank fired Raheem Morris and Terry Fontenot, then added Matt Ryan as president of football to rework leadership.
- Stefanski also hired Robert Prince as wide receivers coach and Bob Quinn as senior adviser, retaining Justin Hood, Nate Ollie, Kevin Koger, and Jeff Ulbrich while adding Tommy Rees as offensive coordinator Thursday.
- Stefanski and the new general manager will report to Ryan, with Aukerman's Dolphins blocking two field-goal attempts to improve Atlanta's special teams.
- Aukerman's résumé includes 26 years in coaching and 16 NFL seasons; he spent seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans coaching Pro Bowlers Brett Kern and Morgan Cox.
