On 15 December 2025, the Austrian company, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, announced the immediate termination of its contract with the Swedish company Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA), following an operational audit deemed not to comply with the requirements of the Lufthansa Group. Since February 2024, Braathens has operated on behalf of Austrian Airlines some of its short-haul flights from Vienna.
