Two weeks after unfound rumors said President Donald Trump suffered a health issue, social media users shared the footage with captions claiming "BREAKING: There are some reports Trump has been taken to Walter Reed Hospital" between April 19 and April 21.
Walter Reed hospital communications office said the logo shown in the video is not official and signage is inconsistent, while Google Gemini detected SynthID, a digital watermark embedded in Google AI tool creations.
A White House official confirmed the video was fake, and Trump's calendar showed he signed executive orders on April 20 and joined CNBC's "Squawk Box" for a phone interview on April 21.
Recently, billionaire Warren Buffett denounced deepfakes after videos misusing his image and voice surfaced online, underscoring the growing difficulty in detecting AI-generated content as such videos become harder to spot.
