Playground Confirms It Will Take Around 20 Hours to Beat Fable's Main Quest, Another 20 for Side Content
Developers say the role-playing game has 15-20 hours of main quests and another 15-20 hours of side and exploration content.
Associate game directors Will Kennedy and Craig Littler confirmed at Gamescom 2026 that Fable's main quest will take around 20 hours to beat, with the RPG launching on February 27, 2027.
Unlike massive open-world titles like Elden Ring that can require 50 hours, Fable is more compact, following the 12 to 13-hour length of previous entries in the series.
Kennedy noted players can add 15-20 hours through side quests and exploration, promising the game's "life systems are limitless, so you can play them for as long as you want."
When an attendee remarked that Fable is "not a huge game," Littler reiterated, "As Will just said, you can literally play it forever if that's what you want to do."
First announced six years ago in July 2020, the game arrives on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X on February 27, 2027, a date Director Ralph Fulton described as a relief.
